Musician

Evan Gottschalk is a dedicated musician and audio engineer based in Youngstown, Ohio, with a passion for both performance and sound technology. His musical journey began at age 13 with his first drum set, quickly evolving into a deep commitment to music through playing in numerous bands and ensembles throughout his school years.

Evan pursued his passion for audio further by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Recording from Youngstown State University, where he honed his skills in both performance and engineering. During his time at YSU, he played in a wide range of ensembles—including jazz combos, big bands, concert band, wind ensemble, orchestra, and percussion ensemble—and delivered sophomore, junior, and senior percussion recitals. He also completed an internship at Take Note Productions, gaining hands-on experience in professional recording environments.

His musical talents extended internationally when he toured with the metal band Wretch, performing in Athens, Greece, and he has continued to perform actively in the regional music scene ever since.

After graduation, Evan served as manager for the Crestview Performing Arts Center, and expanded his expertise across multiple audio disciplines, including live sound for bands and theatre, location recording, music composition, and sound design/implementation for video games.

Today, Evan works full-time as a musician and freelance audio engineer. He currently performs with his trio cover band Good Bones, and provides live sound services for clients including Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley, The Youngstown Playhouse, and numerous local schools and organizations throughout the area.

With a blend of technical mastery and artistic insight, Evan brings energy, precision, and professionalism to every stage and studio he works in.
